Lyft users can now favorite and block drivers
New personalization and security features are coming to the LYFT carpooling application, including the ways in which drivers can take control of good trips and bad trips.
The runners who have particularly pleasant rides will now have the option of preferred specific drivers, and the application algorithm will make an effort to reconnect them with this pilot for future trips. At the other end, the company explains that when a driver is favored, it will be informed and unlock priority access to the future requests of driving.
And, almost 13 years after its foundation, Lyft runners can now also block drivers, helping them take control of more unpleasant driving experiences.

“Our goal is to serve and connect – and it starts with security,” Lyft said in a statement on Thursday. “The addition of favorite pilots is a part of our continuous commitment to make Lyft the safest way to move, while giving you the tools you need to feel safe.”

The two personalization features are part of a brand new security center, which centralizes safety preferences such as vehicle audio recording, checking pins for drivers and application recordings during rides. Users can access favored and blocking preferences in the new “corresponding” section of the security center.

More user control seems to be at the center of carpooling companies in recent months. On July 23, Uber announced its new preferences for preferences for women, a parameter that will allow women and drivers to choose same -sex rides. Cyclists can choose female drivers while planning rides or to define an account preference beforehand, and drivers will be able to adjust preferences even during peak sharing hours. The framework is now controlled in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Detroit.
Lyft unveiled a similar feature, Women + Connect, in 2023, which allowed runners to prioritize matches with non -binary women and drivers, designed with the help of the campaign of human rights and the sexual assault prevention campaign, that’s about us.
