It is almost time to catch double summer meteor showers. The Capricornid Meteors of the Southern Delta and Alpha Culmine Culminate early on the morning of July 30. With a minimum interference of the moonlight, the meteors should appear shiny and clear if they are seen far from the lights of the city. Each shower should produce up to a dozen meteors visible per hour. Alpha capricornides can have tails that persist longer in the night sky. Observation of each shower lasts until August 12. The next big shower of major meteors, the perseids, will reach mid-August.
