LeBron James targets AI company over bizarre deepfake pregnancy videos

The NBA superstar, LeBron James, has become one of the first major celebrities to repel the unauthorized use of its resemblance in the content generated by AI. James’ legal team recently published a letter of sale and desteists in Flickup, the company behind the IA II Image AI image tool.

According to a 404 media report, Flickup revealed legal action to members of his community in late June. The Interlink AI tool, hosted on the server, allowed users to create videos generated by AI-AI of high-level NBA players, notably James, Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokić and others. While many videos were harmless, some crossed the line in disturbing territory, such as an important image of Los Angeles Laker kissing his pregnant belly.

One of the most visualized videos created with Interlink Ai portrayed a “Diddy” Sean generated by Ai- “Diddy” sexually assaulting Curry in prison, while James appears passively in the background. This video alone would have raised more than 6.2 million views on Instagram.

404 Media confirmed with the founder of Flickup, Jason Stacks, that James’ legal team was behind the letter of transfer and desire. Within 30 minutes of reception, Stacks said that he had decided to “delete all the realistic people from Interlink AI software”. Stacks also published a video concerning the situation, simply subtitled: “I’m so f ** ked.”

LeBron James is part of an increasing list of celebrities whose similarities have been used without consent to disturb the content generated by AI. The pop star Taylor Swift has been targeted several times with deep pornography, while Scarlett Johansson and Steve Harvey both publicly condemned the abusive use of their images and expressed the support of the legislation to limit it. However, James stands out as one of the first to bring official legal action against a company allowing this type of content via its AI tools.

Several bills are currently making their way through the congress to approach the rise of unregistered content generated by AI. The law recently adopted by Dess Down criminalizes the publication or the threat of publishing intimate images without consent, in particular Deepfakes and the pornography generated by the AI. Two additional proposals – The NO FAKES ACT of 2025 and the original protection of the content and the integrity of the law on the published and deep media of 2025 – were also introduced.

The NO FAKES ACT focuses on the prevention of unauthorized replication of the AI of a person’s voice, while the latter seeks to protect the original works and to apply transparency around the media generated by AI.
