Arsenal and Sporting have been locked in the negotiations for some time, the sources indicating to ESPN that the delay was due to disagreements on the details of the complementary modules linked to the performance.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Viktor Gyökeres to the club,” said Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta in a statement. “The consistency he showed in his performances and his availability has been exceptional, and his contributions to the objective speak for themselves.
“Viktor has so much qualities. It is a rapid and powerful presence in advance, with incredible goals in clubs and international levels. It brings a clinical advantage with a high rate of conversion in the goals, with its intelligent movement in the box making it a constant threat.
“We are delighted with what Viktor brings to our team and we can’t wait to start working with him. We welcome Viktor and his family in Arsenal.”
The Swedish international arrives with an elegant reputation and has also been the subject of the interest of Manchester United and the Saudi Pro League this summer.
Gyökeres scored 54 goals last season in all competitions for sport, the most by a player in a high -flying club. In total, he scored 68 goals in the league in just 66 appearances in Portugal – with 39 steps last season – since he joined the Coventry City championship in 2023.
He also appreciated spells in English football in Swansea City and Brighton & Hove Albion.
The director of Arsenal Sporting, Andrea Berta, said: “We are so satisfied with the excellent affair that we have concluded to bring Viktor Gyökeres to the club. Viktor is an exceptional talent and has constantly demonstrated that he has the qualities and the winning mentality required of a high -level center forward.
“We are convinced that Viktor will have a major impact on the field and will become an important figure in our locker room.”
Gyökeres adds more firepower to an arsenal side that was paralyzed by injuries in the second half of last season.
Kai Havertz, who was one of those absent, was the only recognized senior striker brought about the pre-season tour by Arteta.
While Gyökeres had a conversion rate of 28.1% in the Liga of Primeira last season, the Arsenal attackers had a collective conversion rate of 16.5% last season in the Premier.
Arteta is impatient for Gyökeres to join the club’s pre-season tour with Arsenal playing in Newcastle in Singapore on Sunday, then flying off for Hong Kong Tuesday before Thursday’s match against the Tottenham Hotspur arch’s.
Arsenal finished second in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.
