How to Remove AI Images From DuckDuckGo’s Search Results
When I am looking for an online image, I am generally looking for a specific reference or equipment without copyright that I can launch in a project before publishing it or presenting it. The AI images do not help me do one or the other of these things. And in case I TO DO Need an AI image, it is not difficult to generate it by using a personalized prompt. So I can’t think of a scenario where I would like to see IMA images in my search results. Fortunately, it seems that DuckduckGo agrees with me.
The search engine and the confidentiality browser company recently announced a new feature for its image tab which allows you to hide the images generated by AI by default. Although there are ways to hide the AI of your Google research, unless you install extensions, you need to do everything you can to use them whenever you do a new search. With the DuckDuckGo solution, it’s game and forgetting.

Simply access the DuckDuckGo website, enter your search, click on the Images tab, then in the settings toolbar under the search bar, click on IMAGES AI and choose Hide In the drop -down menu. DuckDuckGo will then remember your settings for all future research. Alternatively, click on the hamburger menu in the upper right corner, click on Parameters below Researchand switch to Hide the images generated by AI. Or, you can just start your search on Noai.DuckDuckGo.com.
The company warns you that its “list of blocks is not exhaustive”, so some results generated by AI can pass through the meshes of the net, but I immediately noticed a big difference in my attempts. By looking for tabby kittens, I managed to cut four or five AI images from the first page of the results, including some with proportions of strange cartoons that wouldn’t really help me if I just wanted to know what a baby tabby looks like. It was not as visible as the example of “Baby Peacock” that DuckduckGo gave in his announcement, but it is welcome that what I see is probably real.

DuckDuckGo says that his list of blocks to hide images generated by AI is based on open-source work, including the Ublockorigin and Ublacklist Huge list of AI blocks. This is a manually organized list which targets more than 1,000 sites known to publish content generated by AI, so even if it will not capture everything, this is an excellent start. It is also useful that it will work even if an image has not necessarily been filled in AI.
