NYC shooting: NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt delivers emotional tribute to victims

“Tear news. Last night, I started to receive SMS from the country asking me if I was going well, not understanding exactly where I work. I do not work in this building,” said a solemn brandt. “I work considerably in the city center. But I am devastated for all those who work in this building.

“I also want to say that I think that is a particularly heartbreaking news because in this company and in this building, it is a period of great excitement and joy and this week represents hope and the Renaissance and some of them were taken yesterday. It is a horrible news. Terribly sad to hear it. And we, in the morning, deeply share our support for the relatives of the victims. “”

The NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, praised NYPD officer Didarul Islam, One of the victims identified, in a service note to the employees who were in the building at the time of the shooting.

“We are deeply grateful to law enforcement officers who responded quickly and decisively to this threat and to the Islam officer, who gave his life to protect others”, read the memo, obtained by Fox News Digital.

Goodell also confirmed in memo that an NFL employee was “seriously injured” but in a stable state.

New York mayor Eric Adams said on Tuesday that the shooter, identified as Shane Tamura, was trying to target the NFL headquarters but took the bad elevator bank. Adams added that the shooter was referring to having suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and that he had a grievance against the NFL.

“He seemed to have blamed the NFL,” said the mayor on Fox 5 NY. “The NFL headquarters was located in the building and wrongly did the bad elevator bench.”

The tragic shot came only a few days before the league kick off this week with a pre-season match between the Los Angeles Chargers And the Lions of Detroit Thursday evening.
