Phillies’ Jose Alvarado apologizes as 80-game ban nears end

The Philadelphia Phillies Lift, Jose Alvarado, who is in the process of completing his suspension of 80 games for violating the drug policy improving the performance of MLB, apologized to his teammates and fans on Tuesday on Instagram.

“I am fully aware that the use of prohibited substances is wrong and I would never intend to do it because I have always had great respect for the game, my organization, my teammates and fans, all I want to offer my sincere apologies,” said Alvarado.

“I made a mistake and therefore, I faced the consequences exposed by MLB. In the future, I focus on hard work to help the team win.”

The hard -launched left -hander was tested positive for exogenous testosterone, which is a substance improving performance, and was suspended on May 18. Alvarado can start a minor league mission before it was eligible to return on August 19, but it is not eligible to launch Tuesday’s action.

Phillies president of baseball operations, Dave Dombrowski, said that the positive test had been caused by a weight loss drug that Alvarado took during the offseason.

“There is always a lesson to learn in each error,” Alvarado wrote on Tuesday.

Alvarado, who returned to Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday, has a 4-1 file with seven stops and an MPM of 2.70 in 20 appearances this season. He has 25 stick withdrawals and four steps in 20 sleeves launched.

Philadelphia acquired Jhoan Duran closer to the Minnesota twins on the deadline for trade.

The phillies made a movement of alignment on Tuesday, restoring the reader Joe Ross from the injured list and optioning Seth Johnson in Triple-A.
