How to get Microsoft Office 365 for dirt cheap as a student
Free alternatives can exist for Microsoft Office components, but sometimes they cannot defend the original. And as a student, the new cost of $ 100 per year for a Microsoft 365 personal account is quite expensive, but fortunately, you may not have to pay to use the software.
Depending on where you go to school, you can be eligible for a free Microsoft 365 subscription at reduced prices. The student version gives you the same access to Office Applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint), 1 TB of Cloud OneDrive storage, video editing software, etc.
For many students, your school email address will be sufficient to check your eligibility-and you may not even need to go through this process.

Your school may have an agreement with Microsoft to provide Microsoft 365 for free. You can check in different ways:
- Looking for the name of your school and Microsoft 365 (Or Office 365))
- Analyze your school’s website and / or student portal for free software information available for students
- Contact your school’s computer service directly and request
If you go to a local community or local college, do not presume that your school would not have resources to offer this for free – it is not an exclusive advantage to more expensive universities. Students attending American colleges and universities with the accreditation of Title IV are eligible for a student’s delivery of the Microsoft 365 personal level, which reduces the price to only $ 5 per month.
You must register via the Microsoft 365 student website, which will ask you to check your student status. If you are eligible, you will be billed once a month at the student rate until you lose your eligibility. (You must veneer the status of your student once a year.) Your rate will then increase at the price of the standard personal plan at that time.
