The latest macOS Tahoe beta adds a gorgeous new screensaver

We are only about a month before the launch of MacOS 26, and Apple has accelerated the work on the next major update of the Mac operating system. And with the latest beta update, which was published Tuesday to developers, the company revealed another little surprise for Mac users.
No, this is not a new feature or a new application, but always something that people will use every day: users who update to MacOS 26 BETA 5 will notice a new screen saver available.
MacOS 26 has a new dynamic screen saver
The new screen saver is based on the default macos Tahoe wallpaper, which was unveiled in June at WWDC. The wallpaper, which represents the landscapes of South Lake Tahoe in a stylized artistic way, is available in clear and dark versions – and it now has its own live screen saver.
With MacOS 26 Beta 5, when you define the theme “Tahoe” as a wallpaper and screen saver, you will see a animated version on the lock screen of your Mac. Similar to wallpaper of the default system, the new screen saver is also available in clear and dark versions.

MacOS 26 is a major update. Like iOS 26, it introduces the new liquid glass interface with more translucent and shines through the system. It also widens Apple Intelligence’s capacities and better integrates Mac into the iPhone and iPad with things like live activities and the newspaper application.
For the moment, MacOS Tahoe is the update is only available for developers and users who receive public beta updates via Apple Beta software. The official release of MacOS Tahoe is expected this fall.
