Justice Department Opens Criminal Investigation Into New York Attorney General Letitia James

New York Attorney General, Letitia James is now under a criminal investigation into his targeting by President Donald Trump and another example to the Attorney General Pam Bondi, learned Breitbart News.
Two informed sources on the issue told Breitbart News that assignments had been sent to James by focusing on what they say to be allegations that she has engaged in what is called “rights deprivation” when she targeted Trump and another example. The assignments were issued, according to these sources, and there is an active and open investigation by the Grand Jury which was ordered by Bondi and is led by an American prosecutor’s office in New York. Although sources do not specify which American lawyer in New York manages the James investigation – there are several American lawyers’ offices in New York – since her office is in Albany and that it is from where she has taken these actions for which she is now under investigation, it would seem that it probably means that the North District of New York is the one that takes care of this.
Although these informed sources of the question did not say more than this survey focused on a question of “deprivation of rights”, the website of the Civil Rights Division of the Ministry of Justice clearly understands laws focused on this front. “Article 242 of title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under the color of any law to voluntarily deprive a person of a right or a privilege protected by the Constitution or the laws of the United States,” said the website of the Ministry of Justice.
The DoJ website also notes that depending on the severity of such an offense, if someone is found guilty of this federal crime, he could risk in life for life or even the death penalty.
“For the purposes of article 242, acts under the” color of law “include not only acts performed by federal, state or local officials within their legal authority, but also acts performed beyond the limits of the legitimate authority of this official, if the acts are performed while the manager claims or claims to act in the exercise of his official functions”, indicates the Doj website. “People acting under the color of the law within the meaning of this law include police officers, prison guards and other managers of law enforcement, as well as judges, care providers in public health establishments, and others who act as civil servants.
Again, it is not clear if it is the specific status under which James faces a criminal investigation, but the informed sources of the issue said that the investigation was focused on a case of “rights deprivation” concerning Trump and as regards another case. Since the assignments have been published, the normally federal assignments would cite a specific law – but again, these documents are not yet available to the public.
This news comes after it was revealed in May 2025 that James was under the FBI investigation for alleged alleged mortgage fraud. It now faces multiple criminal surveys of the federal police.
James regularly campaigned for the office she is currently holding on Trump, and this line of investigation is likely to prove to be fruitful due to the fact that she was so open to plot to come after him before winning his election as a New York Attorney General. Like the editor -in -chief of Breitbart News, Alex Marlow Break the lawJames is committed to coming after Trump – and did it.
In an article this week explaining links with the Democrat Joe Biden Maison Blanche of the whole law against Trump establishing the de facto scheme presented in his book, Marlow had this key detail:
Letitia “Tish” James is a partisan democrat who ran and won his race for the prosecutor general of New York specifically to try to destroy Trump. She is one of the most open and most public practitioners of Lawfare presented in the book. She said once to a group of Democrats from New York that “I can’t wait to go to the prosecutor’s office every day, pursuing [Trump]Then go home. She uses the law to advance political objectives, and she does not hide this fact.
In addition, the representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) in February 2014, when she was president of the GOP conference, sent a 64-page letter to the New York Commission on professional standards requiring that James be radiated by at least 50 specific examples of prejudicial comments to Trump before him in various civil disputes in New York in the understanding of the 2024 presidential election.
