Readers sound off on the mayoral primary, raising wages and Trump’s Iran claims

Cuomo wants the city for what it can do for him
Bronx: I live in a house of houses from the Williamsbridge Oval Park with its granite leisure center, a lush green space and a beautiful green space and a higher level bordered by trees processed with a water tank. This jewel was built via the Progress Works Administration program as part of the FDR and opened in 1937 while Robert Moses was a New York Parks Commissioner until 1960. This park is a salient recall that our city, with our federal government, has used and built positive and wonderful structures for various communities.
However, in the morning after the democratic debate of June 4 for the mayor, I found myself sick in my stomach than as a woman, I will again be collateral damage to the thirst for power of a man, like the many colored communities which have been collateral damage to the thirst for power of Moses. Our current metro system is maintained together by a weak band and rusty pins in the middle of divestment (the heritage of Andrew Cuomo on the MTA) in the public infrastructure and an acceptable rage via the scapegoat of Donald Trump of those who go up in the metro. Cuomo did not have a sincere love for New York. He stammered and offered a lot of “Umm, yeah … I used to …” by collapsing in his own physical stature. It was only at this stage as a means of finding power through its last name, and not to raise and acquire a city against attacks by weak politicians with little creativity, empathy or moral conviction.
Do better, New York voters. Our elected officials should not break and walk around their moral ineptime, and future generations should not be ashamed that we had the opportunity to elect someone better than a hardened intimidator of a little man afraid of his past and future voters. Elisabeth von uhl
Back to his reign?
Stratford, Conn.: I am so happy not to live in New York. These allegedly educated citizens elected Bill de Blasio twice (whatever happened to the billions of dollars given to his wife to resolve mental health crises in the city? Never recognized – follow the money), the current mayor and the new possible mayor of Cuomo, the man who killed hundreds, perhaps thousands of elderly people during the epidemic. He chose the members of the board of directors of parole who released dozens of killers of cops, resigned from the office due to sex scandals and made you, the citizens of New York, take on its legal bills. Wow, what a big selection. You New York have made your bed for years, now be comfortable sleeping! Peter Sulzicki
Unjustly accused
Little Egg Harbor, NJ: I’m really bored when I read letters such as the Davis C. Bloomfield voice, whose Cuomo’s opinion is so screwed up that it is defamed. Yes, his staff helped him type the manuscript, then they decided that they wanted a percentage of his funds. When he did not give them what they wanted, they decided to accuse him of sexual harassment. It was not up to him to have nursing houses to place patients with their populations, but in separate sections. The houses were well paid and it was their responsibility to treat patients adequately, not that of the governor. If you are a republican, no democrat will never do anything good for you. Stop making false and baseless charges. Cuomo is the best candidate in New York has ever had the chance to have to save him from the incompetent characters of the game. Rose S. Wilson
Who is Jewish?
Margate, Florida: The embrace of Audrey Sasson of the anti -Zionist agenda of Zohran Mamdani (“a progressive vision which should gain Jewish support”, OP -ED, June 22) is a rejection of the Bible of 3,500 years – which is the only fundamental story of the Jewish Bible: a return to Zion – which is today Israel. A Jewish Bible which is the only source of Judaism. For a “Jew” like Sasson, supporting Mamdani, it is to reject the Jewish Bible and thus reject Judaism. Richard Sherman
Do not do enough
Upper Nyack, NY: Your double truck room “How can we allow ourselves to live in our city?” (June 22) With responses from seven hopes of the mayor, he offers the usual mixture of rezoning, freezing of rents, withdrawal to the red band and certain innovations to cope with an aggravation of the housing crisis. However, the key factor – wages – is missing. The old rule consisted in spending a third of the monthly income on rent or mortgage. Today, this ratio can be 50 to 70%. Until workers earn more, the statistics that you note – “about half of households have trouble paying for the bases while a quarter live in poverty” – will become even more disastrous. The great transfer of wealth, continuous, even accelerating, of a middle class threatened to the rich will make serfs of the poor and will send a lot to this level of income. Without a significant salary increase, “affordability” will be a dream, regardless of the number of units built. Art Gunther
Abandoned data point
Brooklyn: There was an article (“Extreme Heat Visit in New York for a few more days”, June 23) in which you wrote: “Central Park had a day of 100 degrees on July 18, 2012 and did not see a three -digit temperature in June since 1952.” This is incorrect. New York reached 101 degrees on June 27, 1966, which I remember as a very hot summer. I was 17 years old and I worked in the city that summer. Jeffrey Meyerson
Do not deliver
Maspeth: AOC is a joke and it should be the only dismissal, not President Trump. Its district is a total mess and its stupidity cost Long Island City, an Amazon seat which would have brought thousands of jobs. Lance Lovejoy
What nuclear weapons?
Staatsburg, ny: re “us bombs three nuke sites across Iran” (June 22): in March, the American director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard advises that American intelligence did not think that Iran was building a nuclear weapon. Trump says she’s wrong and she doesn’t know anything. Really? So why have it in this position? By the way, how certain intelligence was that nuclear weapons were really where the bombs were abandoned? Lure planes have been sent to distract for bombing purposes. How do we know that the United States has not been set up with lures for nuclear weapons either? Glenn Marowitz
Firestarter
Union, NJ: Well, Donald said that after the 2024 electoral cycle, there would be the Second World War! Only, he lied to you, saying that the Democrats would start it or would be responsible for it. It seems to be responsible for potential nuclear annihilation. Bravo, Maga – should it be Maawa (do America at war again)? Lou alt
Criminal leaders
Manhattan: Khamenei, Netanyahu and Trump / will reduce the world to a stump / They should see / (with Putin & XI) / be thrown into the dumping in history. Jonathan J. Dobkin
Hunger strike
Toledo, Ohio: Watch hundreds of people mutilated, burned and killed every day who tear themselves just inside – too much like when I treated hundreds of our war in Vietnam. Veterans continue their fasts at 40 days at the UN headquarters until June 30. I threw a fast to demand a resumption of humanitarian aid under the authority of the United Nations and to prevent American weapons from fueling the genocide, and telling the Americans that the same societies who have made billions of people in massacre in our lives in Vietnam were cleaning up in real time. Our taxes help Israel provide complete health care to all citizens while millions of Americans have without it and we spend billions of people killing people. This madness will only stop when enough Americans demand it. We have been there since May 22. I had to leave day 21, but the others are still there. Mike Ferner
Leave the best for the end
Beautiful Harbor: Regarding the habit of the Anthony Vasser (and Dagwood) voice to read the comics first to prepare for the rest of the newspaper: I am the opposite. I make my way through the disappointing news, dismayed (and sometimes disgusting) of the day and save the funnies for the end, leaving me mental rise. Reading them first seems to eat dessert before dinner. I prefer to save the candies for the end! Bobby Nelsen
