Among all the true stories in recent history, there was something particularly convincing in Amanda Knox. She was accused and found guilty of having murdered her roommate and became pariah in the press before finally being acquitted. And all of this was played in the Internet era, which means that those of us who follow the case had to look at each new wild revelation taking place in real time. Most times, I found myself asking the question: “Will we never know what is really going on here?”

Thanks to Amanda Knox Documentary on Netflix, you can. He presents interviews with various people involved in the case of Knox, including his boyfriend who has become sentenced to Folle. But the most convincing thing about this doc is Knox herself, who can finally tell this story upside down in her own words. And whether you are new in his case or that you have followed him for years, this documentary is the ideal way to dive into one of the most infamous stories in the history of crime. From this moment, it is my favorite of original Netflix documentaries true crime!

Sometimes, the most scary crime tales are those which serve as reflections of our own culture. These are two dreams that have become reality – crossing the country and becoming a successful YouTube influencer – so that many of us are looking at home.

Alabama snake Offer a little different from a story in the true genre of crime in that he tells the story of a man who tries to transform snakes with bells into murder arms!

The original case dates back to 1991 and implies a Pentecostal preacher who was accused of having killed his second wife by forcing her to go to a cage full of poisonous bell snakes. Those who took note of the case at the time naturally had a lot of questions, ranging from the fact that the preacher’s reasons were on the way in which he provided a most unconventional murder. Alabama Snake answers all these questions in a way that makes them one of our new favorite crime documents!

Beware of the Slenderman

Year of exit

2017

Execution time

1 hour 57 minutes

In 2014, two 12 -year -old girls stabbed their friend 19 times for everyone’s stranger reason: they wanted to obtain the approval of Slenderman, a fictitious internet boogeyman that was at the heart of countless creepypastas. At the time, the case became under my skin, not only because the pre-adolescents tried to kill themselves. I was also alarmed by the fact that our culture had become so bizarre that we made our own monstrous gods and even try to appease them with human sacrifices.

Because of my alarm, I did not follow the case too close, but I still had a lot of questions. Fortunately, Beware of the Slenderman Most of them replied. Looking at the documentary, I couldn’t help but make comparisons with The BabadookOne of my favorite horror films. This film is largely convincing because it asks us to determine whether monsters or mental health problems are the real problem. Unfortunately, Beware of the Slenderman Proves that this is a question that we must tackle in real life, by dealing with the mental problems of young people before becoming the very monsters that they try to impress.

Worship girls is based on someone’s exploits that is not exactly a familiar name: Ervil Lebaron. Of course, you may know him by his more scary nickname: “Mormon Manson”. He directed the church of the lamb of God first born, which was polygamous. This part is important because he had more than 50 children, raising them in his twisted ways, even if his cult members have carried out a series of mass murders.

The name of this documentary gives its real home – the children of this crazy cult chief. Some of his surviving daughters have advanced to give brutally frank accounts of what it was to be raised by such an infamous personality within the limits of his mortal worship. In this way, the whole is more convincing than the average documentary of the real crime because he goes beyond the head of worship himself to explore the heartbreaking and heartbreaking details of the children who survived his anger.

You may have a lot of real crime documents to your credit, but Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke Take advantage of a particularly sensitive subject: child abuse. Holder Ruby Franke was an incredibly prosperous mother’s vlogger who became a YouTube megastar for having chronicle the exploits of her six children. This streaming empire, however, collapsed when she was accused of having abused her children in a case that set fire to the Internet.

Hearing about the bad allegations against Franke (who was finally condemned), I continued to ask a singular question: “How did it happen?” Why would anyone do this to their children? ” The documentary presents everything, of the role of his partner / commercial mentor with Franke’s own motivations. In addition, the DOC presents his older ex-husband and children, giving a glimpse of how things went so bad with this famous family.

TMZ presents oj: how he really did it

Execution time

As indicated above, fans of the real crime sometimes like to know more about relatively unknown killers. Sometimes, however, you want to dive into a more famous case to learn new details (or at least new for you). He does not become much more famous than the trial for murder of OJ Simpson. And the explosive documentary true-crime TMZ presents oj: how he really did it Help a new light on what is probably the most famous in history.

If you already know a lot about the alleged murder of his wife’s OJ Simpson, then what does this documentary have to offer you? Among other things, this includes information from Jim Holcomb, a LAPD officer who could simply know what the neighbor of Simpson (who was not allowed to testify) had to say about allegations. Thanks to this and other details of initiates, I recommend this doc to all, in particular those who (like me) remember to look at the pursuit of Bronco at low speed in college.

Suburban Nightmare: Chris Watts

Year of exit

2022

Execution time

1 hour 25 minutes

Fortunately, none of us know exactly how a murderer thinks. But that is part of what makes the documentaries of real crime so convincing: we can Puander through interviews and old photos in order to reconstruct why someone did the unthinkable. That’s why I found it Suburban Nightmare: Chris Watts so convincing. Watts was a father who seemed to have a great marriage, but he ended up mortally strangling his wife and two daughters.

Beyond the mystery of the reasons why he did, Watts is a convincing figure because (as fans of the real crime already know), most of those who kill their family also end up committing suicide. Watts did not do it, which means that he was able to make declarations on his deadly motivations. As the documentary credits run, you may not be completely satisfied with the answers. But you will be one more step towards the closure, which can only come to understand why the killers so often make the unthinkable for those they love.

Do you want to be a little scared tonight? Or maybe you just need to waste a little time before your favorite Grisly podcast downloads a new episode? Anyway, this final list of true-crime documentaries worthy of a frenzy is sure to take care of you!
