Juliana Barajas: Supporting NASA’s Mission, One Task at a Time 

As an administrative assistant at the Office of Security and Insurance of the Mission of the Installation of the White sand tests from NASA in Las Cruces, in New Mexico, Juliana Barajas approaches her work with a clear mission: to help others succeed.

For more than two decades, she has supported the NASA mission with a career based on service, perseverance and gratitude. Whether it’s coordinating tasks, solving problems or listening to listening, Barajas plays an essential role by helping his team maintain security and excellence.

“When I was young, I never imagined working at NASA,” said Barajas “I dreamed of studying mechanical genius but I never had the opportunity.”

Instead, she continued a diploma in IT secretarial studies. “I am grateful for the opportunity to prove that I could do any job given to me,” she said.

In 2009, Barajas won the secretarial Excellence Award, a recognition that she called for a highlight of her career. But for Barajas, pride is not reserved for great moments. “I am proud of everything I do every day,” she said. “If I can help those who surround me to succeed, then I fulfilled my duty.”

His career has also learned his precious personal lessons. “I learned to be a good listener and to be myself,” she said. “I also learned to be ingenious and not to give up. I am grateful to have wonderful people around me who did not mean me when I put my hand to get answers. ”

While NASA continues to prepare for future lunar missions, Barajas hopes to pass the courage, resilience and determination to persevere by challenges. She encourages the next generation to ask for help if necessary and to speak when it matters most.

“I love my job and I would like to continue supporting my NASA family as long as I can,” she said. “And I promise to continue to be the person I am.”
