‘What Reality Do You Live In?’: Scott Jennings Spars With CNN Panelist Who Dismisses Trump’s Peace Deals

CNN’s main political commentator, Scott Jennings, verbally participated in the CEO of the Seneca project, Tara Setmayer on “CNN Newsnight” on the diplomatic efforts of President Donald Trump on Monday.
Trump announced that he would meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska to ensure the end of the war in Ukraine. Jennings noted that Trump had concluded several peace agreements around the world and argued that he deserved “latitude” for the next meeting with the Russian president. “The chief of the secretary general of NATO recognizes publicly that yes, there must be concessions here to end the war,” said Jennings about what it would take to conclude a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. “The president has resolved as seven conflicts this year. I am ready to give him a certain latitude to speak to Vladimir Putin and break the dead end and try to move to a place where the murder ends, because I think that is why we should all pray. “
“He has not resolved seven conflicts. There have been a lot of discussions on this subject and there is no question -but -” said setmayer before Jennings asked him: “In what reality do you live?”

Setmayer and Jennings then argued, Jennings, noting that Trump, had brought the world leaders to the White House where “they sign documents and shake hands” before Setmayer said that Trump had “an affinity for Vladimir Putin”.
“A lie,” replied Jennings, which prompted Setmayer to say: “You know, you are not going to get out of it with a liar.”
“You lie. You lie,” said Jennings, with Setmayer responding: “I do not lie. No one lies on anything.”
Special Lawyer John Durham published a report in May 2023 concerning the origins of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of allegations that Trump’s presidential campaign experienced a collus with Russia. He found that the FBI “did not and could not corroborate” the claims of the Steele file now dissected, which was used to launch the probe. After a new back and forth, Setmayer said again that Trump had an “affinity” for Putin.
“Anyway, so Donald Trump’s affinity for Vladimir Putin compared to the way he treats Zelenskyy, who is the one who is actually fighting-” said Setmayer, with Jennings saying: “Did he show affinity with them when he just arranged for the arms for NATO?”
In July, Trump concluded an agreement with NATO where the members of the Alliance would buy weapons, including the air surface missiles of the MIM-104 Patriot, and would donate them to Ukraine. “Can we just let her finish so that we can -” “The host of CNN Newsnight, Abby Phillip, said, before Jennings underlines:” We say things that do not exist in reality. “”
“It is – it is absolutely not true,” said Setmayer, with Jennings who pulled back, “we have just made NATO to make hundreds of millions of dollars in fatal weapons in Ukraine. What affinity for Russia is it?” It’s crazy. “”
