Two men fatally struck standing next to Queens food truck, driver who hit them also dead
Two men standing next to a catering truck died on Tuesday morning in a horrible queen accident who also killed the driver who struck them, police said.
A man driving a Toyota Corolla North 2010 on the 42nd street in Astoria struck the standing men near the catering truck near the 19th avenue around 8:40 am, said cops.
The driver was transferred out of control after hitting the two pedestrians, stopping only after hitting a Volvo making a 42nd St. U-turn, said cops.
One of the pedestrians, a 42 -year -old man, died on the scene.
The other pedestrian, a 70 -year -old man, was transported by doctors to the Elmhurst hospital with the driver who struck them. These two men died in the hospital.
The names of the pedestrians were not immediately released. The cops were still working to determine the identity of the Corolla driver.
The driver of the Volvo was not seriously injured.
