GOP Subcommittee Calls Out Meta Over Report Its AI Has ‘Romantic,’ ‘Sensual’ Chats With Kids – RedState

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) put Meta and his CEO / co-founder Mark Zuckerberg in opinion that they should bring together and keep the files that could be relevant for a new “complete investigation” by the Senate subcommittee, he presides over conversations with the children of the technological giant.
In a letter sent on Friday and addressed to Zuckerberg on the Senate’s judicial committee subcommittee on the investigation into crime and the fight against terrorism, Hawley wrote:
Is there something – something – Big Tech will not be for a small money? Now we learn that Meta chatbots have been programmed to continue an explicit and “sensual” conversation with the 8 years. It’s sick. I launch a complete investigation to get answers. Big Tech: Leave our children quiet pic.twitter.com/ki0w94jwfo

“The reports indicate that Meta approved the internal rules for her AI chatbots which would allow” romantic “and” sensual “exchanges with children, while lit the other harmful content behind the legal word games,” wrote the legislator … “It is unacceptable that these policies were advanced in the first place. Meta must immediately preserve the relevant registers and produce responsible documents so that Congress can investigate these disorder practices. “
He added:
The subcommittee of the Senate’s Judicial Committee on Crime and the Fight against Terrorism, which I chair, will begin to investigate the question of whether Meta’s generative products allow exploitation, deception or other criminal damage to children, and if the meta has misleaded the public or regulators concerning its guarantees. We intend to learn who approved these policies, how long they were in force and what Meta did to stop this conduct in the future.
Senator Hawley noted why he thought that the intervention of the congress is necessary – that Meta would have tried to quietly clean his act “only after [they] got caught “by a Reuters report:
So, it was only after Meta was caught up that it was withdrawn from the parts of her doc company who judged him “authorized to the chatbots to flirt and engage in a romantic role -playing game with children”

This report concerning, published on August 14, was launched by Reuters by examining what he described an “internal document of meta platforms”:
A document of internal meta meta platforms of policies on the behavior of the chatbot allowed the creations of the artificial intelligence of the company to “engage a child in romantic or sensual conversations”, generate false medical information and help users say that blacks are “more stupid than whites”.
These results and others emerge from a Reuters review of the Meta Document, which deals with standards that guide its generative AI assistant, Meta IA and the chatbots available on Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, Social Media Platforms.
Meta confirmed the authenticity of the document, but said that after having received questions earlier this month from Reuters, the company deleted parties that declared that chatbots were allowed to flirt and engage in a romantic role-playing game with children.
Reuters spoke with Meta spokesperson Andy Stone, on his conclusions, who said:
“The examples and notes in question were and are wrong and incompatible with our policies, and we have been deleted. We have clear policies on the type of answers that AI characters can offer, and these policies prohibit the content that sexualizes children and the sexualized role -playing game between adults and minors. ”
Hawley shared another example of the report in his letter:
To take only an example, your internal rules allowed an AI chatbot to say that the body of an eight -year -old child is “a work of art” of which “each thumb … is a masterpiece – a treasure that I dearly cherish”. A similar conduct described in these reports is reprehensible and scandalous – and demonstrates a cavalier attitude with regard to the real risks that the generator presents to the development of young people in the absence of solid railings. Parents deserve the truth and children deserve protection.
Although Meta is not the only major technological company that would have been lax in its responsibility to protect the use by children from their games and platforms (Redstate will soon have more on the disturbing trend), in the end, parents are the guards of their children online.
We will keep you in the loop as the congress investigation also advances.
