Watch Figure 02 Humanoid Fold Laundry in New AI Demo

When the last demo in Figure 02 of the folding napkins of humanoid robot dropped, I knew I had to make a video on this subject. The covers of CNET robots still get comments from viewers asking if robots could make their laundry.
In the demo, Figure 02 folds the towels at a speed of approximately 22 seconds per towel.
With the progress of AI and robotics, the dream of automated household chores seems closer, but it is not yet there. I tested my laundry folding skills against the robot in Figure 02 to see how close we are. The last demo in Figure 02 shows the six -tower folding human robot at a rate of about 22 seconds per towel. I tried the same action in my apartment to see if I could do it faster.
I tried to make my DIY folding configuration as similar as possible to that used by the figure in the last demo.
Folding towels are not the only part of the laundry that people hope to unload on humanoid robots. The CEO of Figure, Brett Adcock, also shared a video of the robot Figure 02 squatting to add clothes to a washing machine.
Other companies explore the interior capacity of AI robots. Neo, a humanoid robot designed by 1x specifically to perform household chores, has been shown transporting a laundry basket and loading a washing machine.
