President Donald Trump did not exclude American troops to help reach peace in Ukraine, telling journalists on Monday that he could make an announcement later in the day.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy met Trump in the oval office several months after a tense meeting in February and three days after Trump met Russian president Vladimir Putin in Alaska. The president said that America will “help” them when they have been asked for security guarantees and if American troops could be on the ground in Ukraine. “We will let you know that maybe later in the day, we also meet seven major leaders, and we will talk about it. They will all be involved, but there will be a lot of security in terms of security,” Trump told journalists.

“There will be a lot of help. It’s going to be good. They are the first line of defense because they are there, it’s Europe, but we will help them,” he added.

At the White House, Zelenskyy is joined by many European leaders, who meet to discuss the terms for a regulation of peace in the war. Before the meeting, Trump told Zelenskyy to give up Ukrainian membership in the Organization of the North Atlantic Treaty (NATO) and to take over the Crimean Peninsula.

“President Zelenskyy of Ukraine can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants, or he can continue to fight,” wrote Trump on Truth Social before the meeting. “Remember how it started. No Obama recovery gave Crimea (12 years ago, without the shot being fired!), And not to enter NATO through Ukraine. Some things never change !!!”

Trump met Putin on Friday in Alaska to discuss the end of the war. World leaders made comments after their meeting, but did not answer any questions.

“There were a lot, many points on which we agree, most of them, I would say, some great that we have not completely obtained, but we have made progress. So there is no agreement before there was an agreement,” Trump said on Friday.
