Denny Hamlin questions NASCAR potentially moving All-Star Race to Dover
THE Nascar All-Star Race could have a new house in 2026. Jordan Bianchi of Athletics Last Thursday, there is a “growing possibility” that the stars race could be moved by North Wilkesboro Speedway to Dover Motor Speedway.
Bianchi noted that Dover welcoming the stars race could lead to North Wilkesboro to host its first point race in the Cup series since 1996. DOVER has already lost one of its annual dates in 2021. Denny Hamlin Will not be delighted if he loses another in order to accommodate the breed of the stars.
“Surely, they can’t talk about replacing the Dover points race, right? … We had a strong participation in fans when it was 120 degrees, it was like being in the sun,” said Hamlin on his Harmful actions podcast.
Dover, in particular, is a track track without lights. If Nascar holds stars at night, temporary lighting will be necessary. This could be the draw for the CEO of Speedway Motorsports Marcus SmithSaid Hamlin. Hamlin, however, would prefer that this idea will not materialize. He does not see Dover as a “type of star racetrack”.

“Once again, I hope they don’t think it happens because it is not the best choice. Dover is simply not a type of all-star race. This track is the one where it needs rubber on the race to widen and then you can start making passes. But it does not occur up to 30 to 40 laps in a race, and the stars race is made up of short races.
The 2026 calendar is expected to arrive this week. We will soon know what the calendar will look like, but if it was in Hamlin, he would run the stars and have just a point race at North Wilkesboro.
“Why don’t we just give the fucking teams a week off? As, they pass us through the crusher. It’s a version trying to arrive at the racetrack every weekend,” said Hamlin. “I would really like to appreciate another break, and I don’t see the need to try to force this.”
