Uncertainty about the price of the Xbox ally is probably due to the prices. Microsoft recently increased the prices of its Xbox and Asus series consoles did the same with its laptops and its current Rog Ally range.

What makes the Xbox ally different from the steam bridge?
The most notable difference between the Xbox ally and the steam bridge is the operating system. Like the ROG ally, the Xbox ally will also use Windows 11, while the Steam bridge uses the valve steamos.
Even if each PC game works with Windows, portable games running Windows have had serious problems, as the implementation of the operating system has been a little buggy. Portable consoles like Rog Ally, MSI Claw and Lenovo Legion Go simply do not work well with complete windows because the operating system is designed for laptops and desktops and not portable devices. Steamos, however, is designed to perform almost all games on Steam without problems and regardless of the size of the device.
The Xbox ally changes this by giving it an Xbox interface. This would be similar to how the Xbox app on PCS works for the execution of games. It would also be able to download Xbox games directly, play them remotely from a console or broadcast them via Xbox Cloud.

Another big difference is the material. The Steam bridge was released in 2022 and it was the first portable game device produced en masse for PC. At the time, Valve had to use personalized AMD processors, but since then AMD has produced more processors for portable devices, which are now much more powerful in just a few years. The Xbox ally would also have a faster RAM. Improving processors and RAM should considerably increase the number of games that the Xbox ally can perform compared to the Steam bridge, which is already struggling to perform more recent games at 30 frames per second.
Outside, the Xbox ally will be delivered with the same 7 -inch size screen, but it will have a higher cooling rate of 120 Hz, a brighter screen at 500 nits and increased resolution at 1080p.
