‘Peacemaker’ Season 2: Steve Agee Teases ‘Superman’ Connection and ‘Less Terrifying’ Dance Number

Season 2 of Peacemaker, the first original television series under the new DCU banner, is almost there. It’s been three and a half years of waiting, and the new episode race starts on Thursday on HBO Max. I hope you are excited, because I am certainly.
The first season gave the villain with John Cena’s helmet (previously seen in The Suicide Squad by James Gunn) and, in turn, we looked at the peacemaker – also known as Chris Smith – while he was struggling with bad decisions and abusive demons of his past. Oh, and he also fought an invasion of foreigners butterflies. You know, like you.
The series humanized his bad holder who became a man out by giving him a cloth team with whom to bond. This team from the government agency of Amanda Waller Argus included Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), Adrian Chase (Freddie Stroma) and Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks).
And let’s not forget Steve Agee, who plays John Economos. Agee gave life to the economy for the first time in The Suicide Squad of 2021 and has since returned to the character in the creature commandos and the peaceful.
If the name John Economos does not sound, you may know him better as “Dye Beard”, the unhappy nickname that stuck with him throughout season 1. According to the actor, this nickname has left in season 2.. Now, I will not tell you with what it is replaced, but Agee revealed to me that the savings “will not be crazy about it.”.
Before the premiere of season 2, I told him about zoom to search the new difficulties of Economics, the connection of Peacemaker with Superman and a new issue of opening credits.

Your character must work alongside new interesting characters this season. Start with Langston Fleury, because it is he who gives you this nickname. What does his character represent for John’s story this season?
It’s really a baby-sitter. I am really the only one to work in Argus in season 2. They know that I am always friends with Peacemaker, and therefore, I have the impression that many people there do not trust the savings. So I am sort of struggling with a baby-sitter. A crazy baby-sitter.
Rick Flag Sr. has a major presence in season 2.. It’s your boss in Argus, now. How does this have an impact on John?
It is a pay check, guy. I can’t go out and be a mercenary. I’m too weak, do you know? I think I’m comfortable with computers. I’m still not sure that Economos is comfortable in the aspect of surveillance, which is largely what I do a lot this season, especially when I have to watch a friend, but it also allows me to watch over this friend and make sure he is fine. And you know, flag: all this season is motivated by the fact that Peacemaker killed his child. Yeah, it’s all taken this season. Didn’t that happen? I don’t think we have a show, especially a season 2.
Frank Grillo is Rick Flag, Sr. in season 2 of Peacemaker on HBO Max.
But is it just a pay check? I think you talked about it in previous interviews, that John Economicos is like an anxiety ball. Is there a fear in Jean not to have a clear meaning of the objective?
There are many there. In addition, in season 1, we were all disagreeing with each other, until the end, where we all gathered and became the children of the 11th street and formed these links. This fight at the end was our Vietnam, do you know? It’s like our group of brothers. They are now my only friends. And so Economos has loyalty to these people, which, I think, is also another reason for him to stay and do what he does.
Season 1 revealed the sad reason why Economos dyes his beard. Given the emotional earthquake of the scenario, can we expect at another time like this this season?
Well, I have the impression that in season 1, we needed a background for savings. We did not know much about him, and this monologue at the end of the reason why I tore my beard is heartbreaking. We also had to enter the background of Peacemaker and understand why it is such a piece of shit. James really does that well. He did it in creature commandos with the weasel. You watch the film Suicide Squad, and you say to yourself: “This guy is a fucking monster. He killed a bunch of children.” And then you watch the animated series and you are like, Oh my God, it’s so tragic. So we know more about the peacemaker in season 2.. We know a little more about economies, or at least his strange brain. And I think there are other characters we need to explore more deeply this season, you know, like Harcourt and always Cena too.
John Cena and Danielle Brooks return for season 2 of Peacemaker on HBO Max.
Since you now have a previous experience with the dance choreography for the dance number of season 1, how was this new sequence of opening credit made? Easier? More stressful? Creepy?
It was less terrifying. I was more, I don’t want to say denied, but it’s just that I don’t like to dance. It’s very difficult for me. And I knew that was a much greater number because we had more members of the distribution. It was going to be a two -day shoot instead of a day. So, honestly, I was not looking forward to shooting the dance number, because I knew it was going to be very difficult for me, as well as probably a quarter of the other members of the distribution. But, on the other hand, it is one of the strong points of the show. I knew that once we finished, it was going to be that incredible thing to my credit to boast and show people.
So what is the problem of Peacemaker’s pocket dimension? Why is it such a big problem for Argus?
I mean, it is because it is a door to several worlds that we do not know. It’s in Superman; It becomes clear that there are people who have a problem with meta-humans and things like that. It is literally a door to access more meta-humans, perhaps. So, they really don’t want to explore this, and they want to keep it somehow closed.
