Google rolls out Street View time travel to celebrate 20 years of Google Earth

After 20 years, being able to look at any corner of Google Earth’s planet does not seem so impressive, but it was a revolution in 2005. Google Earth suffered a lot of changes at that time, and Google aligned more for the 20th anniversary of the service. Soon, Google Earth will help you travel in time with the historical integration of Street View, and professional users will get new “IA -ordered ideas” – of course, Google cannot update a product without adding at least one little Ai.

Google Earth started his life as an awkward office client, but that did not prevent him from being downloaded 100 million times during the first week. Today, Google Earth is available on the web, in mobile applications and in the Google Earth Pro Desktop application. However, you access the earth, you will find an explosion of the past.

For the 20th anniversary of the service, Google was inspired by a social media trend from last year during which people shared historic images of locations in Google Maps. Now Google Earth obtains a “time travel” interface where you can see historical images from the street view of almost all locations.

Although this part is not new, Google also uses the 20th anniversary as an opportunity to surface its Timelapse 3D functionality. These animations use satellite data to show how an area has changed from a higher point of view. They are as cool as when they were announced in 2021.
