Chipotle drone delivery: ‘Zipotle’ rolling out flying burritos

Chipotle deploys drone delivery. This means that your next burrito could get out of the sky … for … whatever the reason.
The quick relaxed channel announced this week that it was deploying what it calls “zipotle” to a small number of customers. Zipotle is a reference to the zip line, a delivery company of autonomous drones, which will make the discharge for chipotle.
Currently, Zipotle will be available online in Rowlette, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. How it works is quite simple: customer controls on the tyrant application, a local chipotle prepares the command, then the drone flies at the address, flat at around 300 feet and drops the order via a carrier.

Although the delivery of burritos via drone feels a little silly, Chipotle has sold the program as an environmentally friendly delivery option.
“Zipotle is a fast and practical source of delivery that allows customers to take advantage of our real food in places traditionally difficult to serve, including backyard and public parks,” said Curt Garner, president, strategy manager and technology manager at Chipotle, in a press release. “Zipline’s commitment to develop an efficient and environmentally friendly delivery experience is synonymous with our mission to cultivate a better world.”
