Lorne Michaels has major projects for the season “Saturday Night Live” 51.
In an interview in August with Puck News, the creator of “SNL” spoke of the future of the successful program, which has been taking place since 1975, and said that he planned to shake the casting for the new season.
“I wanted people to come back and be part of (the 50th season),” said Michaels at the point of sale. “And that meant that there could not be this kind of disturbance (distribution), or anything that was going to withdraw attention (the 50th season).”
Now he confirmed that he felt a “pressure to reinvent” after the Steps 50 season.
“Yeah, that’s for sure,” said Michaels. “It will be announced in about a week.”

“There are a lot of people in this room with a lot of opinions. I make the final decision, of course. But it is not as if people did not make me know how strongly they feel,” he added.
