Trump pushes Cracker Barrel to scrap controversial new logo

President Trump on Tuesday prompted Cracker Barrel to remove his new controversial logo in the middle of right -wing demonstrations against the more elegant more modern design.
The president echoed the complaints of some of his supporters that the chain of occasional restaurants abandons its conservative rural customers by pouring the old familiar logo which appeared on all its signs.
“Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit an error based on the customer’s response (the ultimate survey) and manage the business better than ever,” Trump published on his social media site. “Make a winner again a winner.”
Trump suggested that the company, known for its folk design and its old menu choices, should take advantage of the attention by returning back to the rebranding effort.
“They got a billion dollars in free advertising if they play their cards correctly,” added Trump. “Very difficult to do, but an excellent opportunity.”
Cracker Barrel, which has 660 restaurants in 44 states, boasts of serving 210 million cookies to 240 customers per year.
So far, it is resistant to the push of the White House and others. He says he will stick to his new logo, but apologized to fans who were angry when the change was announced last week.
“If the last days have shown us something, it is how deeply people care about Cracker Barrel,” said society in a statement. “We could have done a better job of sharing who we are and who we will always be.”
The simplified logo has only the name of the chain. No more image of an older man in an overalls supported against a barrel, nicknamed “Uncle Herschel”, as well as the words “Old Country Store”.
The change was part of a wider change of brand, which saw Cracker Barrel to update its areas of restaurants cluttered with lighter paint and modern furniture.
The presidential son Donald Trump Jr. has already joined the criticism choir, some threatening to boycott the chain on what they make fun of a “awake” effort to please a wider and more diverse consumer base.
