Trump Signs Proclamation Honoring Minneapolis School Shooting Victims

President Donald Trump signed a proclamation on Wednesday, ordering that the American flag be piloted in half of the staff until sunset on August 31, a few hours after a shooter opened fire on a Catholic school in Minneapolis during a mass frequented by students, making two dead children.
“As a mark of respect for the victims of insane acts of violence perpetrated on August 27, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by the authority left in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America and on all ships of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and through the United States and its territories and possession to Sunset, August 31, 2025, proclamation said.
“I also direct that the flag will be piloted at half of the staff for the same duration in all the Embassies of the United States, legations, consular offices and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and ships and naval stations,” continues the proclamation.
AWR Hawkins de Breitbart News reported that Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara confirmed at a press conference that two children had been killed after a shooter “opened fire by church windows during a mass frequented by schoolchildren from a Catholic Minneapolis church.”
Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara said that a shooting was reported to Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church. They learned that a shooter “started to shoot through the church windows towards the children sitting in the benches at mass”.
O’Hara also revealed that the shooter had used a rifle, a hunting rifle and a pistol.
Following the shooting, 17 others are injured, according to the Associated Press.
