Freshman QB Ford Green makes impressive debut for Westlake
After a 0-10 football season, Westlake High unveiled a new look, a new coach and a first year quarter in a 38-14 victory against Golden Valley at the opening of the Warriors season.
The most impressive was the first-year Ford Green quarter-back game, which moved here from South Carolina. He is also a baseball player and a student. He started with a match A, finishing 15 of the 18 passes for 218 yards and four affected.
Westlake’s first year’s coach Rick Clausen, who played the quarter-Arrière at the University with the brothers Casey and Jimmy, said about Green: “Me, Casey and even Jimmy did not do what we ask him to do, making checks on the line, making people get out. The game has not succeeded well.
Clausen had been an assistant for 14 years, so it was his first victory as a chief coach. But he was more focused on the first time for his players to make success for the first time.
“The children were happy. The children were excited, “he said. “It is really important for them to trust each other.”
The next step is a game on the road against Agoura on Friday evening.
