New HomePod rumors and release date: HomePod with screen & HomePod mini coming soon?
A new HomePod Mini could arrive before the end of 2025, with Apple, wishing to meet the demand for the holiday shopping period. The rumors suggest that a new HomePod Mini V2 will be launched in the fall of 2025. It will simply be a simple update update of the Domité Apple speaker, with a colored refreshment and a Sossing, or could it be something more?
Those who hope that Apple will launch a homepod with a screen will be happy to learn that there are also indications that Apple works on such a product, however, we could have a little longer to wait for this to happen on the market.

HomePod Mini 2 release date
Apple presented the HomePod Mini almost five years ago in November 2020. It is long to update and one could soon happen.
Mark Gurman de Bloomberg is expecting a new Homepod Mini in 2025. In January 2025, he wrote that Apple would update the Homepod Mini towards the end of 2025.
Then, in a newsletter in August 2025, Gurman reiterated his predictions in response to the published (and withdrawn) code by Apple which included identifiers for unpublished devices, whose homepod mini was apparently one. He said: “The results corroborate a large part of what I have pointed out, including that the fresh Apple TV and HomePod models will arrive this fall.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has indicated for some time that the Homepod Mini will launch soon. In fact, he predicted that the HomePod Mini 2 will be launched in the second half of 2024. This did not happen, of course.
HomePod 3 with screen release date
The HomePod Mini has a bigger brother and bigger things are rumors for this model.
The original homepod was put up for sale in February 2018 and was abandoned in March 2021. The second generation Homepod was presented in January 2023.
A third generation HomePod can offer more than the second generation. Rumors indicate a new homepod with a screen that could be launched in 2025.
Mark Gurman in A Power On Newsletter in January 2025 said that Apple will launch a HomePod with screen and that it would be “the most important release of the year of Apple”. It seems to be more than a homepod speaker, it could be a brand new intelligent center.
In March 2023, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, wrote on the smart levels of Apple. He indicated that Apple “will reveal a redrawn homepod with a 7 -inch panel in 1h24”, and that this device “could allow narrower integration with the other Apple material products”. At the time, Kuo gave the expected release date of the HomePod with a screen like the first half of 2024 (which obviously did not happen).
In December 2024, Kuo indicated that the HomePod with Screen will only arrive after WWDC 2025. He wrote on Medium: “The mass production calendar for the HomePod equipped with the display was delayed several times. Initially planned for 2024 (as I predicted in 2023), it was planned at 1Q25 and, more recently, after being after WWDC 2025.
Kuo blamed the software development for the delay in production, although he did not specify why the software takes more time than expected.
However, in March 2025, Kuo tweeted that the HomePod with screen will still be delayed not only because of Apple’s intelligence delays, but because it has to align with other new Apple products.

Apple HomePod is currently suffering from its dependence on Siri to control it. With Siri unable to understand instructions as well as hope, some HomePod users choose to interface with the device via an iPhone, but it can be a drain on the battery of the iPhone. The incorporation of a screen would allow users to interface with the HomePod via its display.
Those who hope for a screen on their homepods could soon have their wish expressed. According to Ming-Chi Kuo in March 2023, Apple “will reveal a HomePod redesigned with a 7-inch panel” in 2024. It is not much smaller than the iPad Mini, which has an 8.3-inch screen. The screen would also offer multi-touch features.
The screen could be quite different: in April 2021, Mark Gurman described a high-end speaker with a touch screen that would combine an iPad with a homepod speaker and a camera mounted on a robotic arm that could follow the user in the room during a video chat. He has made various references to this over the years.
There are also rumors on Apple’s plans for a HomeHub that could be a screen to control smart home systems, again from Gurman.
For the moment, however, a simple homepod with screen seems very likely. To get an idea of its appearance, we only need to consult the show 10 Amazon Echo 10, which combines a screen that automatically moves with the Amazon speaker. The Echo Show 10 costs $ 249.99 / £ 259.99.
Alternatively, some time ago, the Swiss Handy Aboovergleich website and designer Eric Huismann created a series of conceptual illustrations of the appearance of this new generation of HomePod. Here’s how they imagine that the HomePod Show – a speaker with a camera and a small touch screen – could look.
Apple Homepod, Siri and Ai
However, with Siri who was to become more “intelligent” thanks to Apple Intelligence, the need for this screen to interface with the devices can be reduced.
The key to these products tends to be their smart assistant and Apple plans to improve Siri with Apple Intelligence (AI). However, Apple delayed the publication of its new improved Siri and this had an effect on the calendar of these new products which, noted Gurman in September 2024, “are considered collaborations between Apple artificial intelligence groups and the material engineering groups of domestic devices”.
As David Price of Macworld said, when they discuss the reason why the HomePod needs more than one screen – “What would help is a in -depth overhaul of Siri: Correct it, then of course, you can have a screen alongside a voice control system that works really.”
And as Macworld’s contributor, Mahmoud Itani, earlier in 2025, Siri on the HomePod should be able to use Chatgpt for AI Requests.
New HomePod: Color Options

Currently, the HomePod Mini is available in blue, yellow, midnight, orange and white and the HomePod in black or white.
We would like to see a more pleasant selection of colors. Orange and yellow stand out, but there are not many rooms and lounges decorated in these showy colors. We think pink would be a popular choice of colors.
New HomePod: specifications and features
We do not know much about the specifications of one of these devices, but their need to support the Apple Intelligence means that they require high-end technology inside:
Processor
The HomePod which was launched in January 2023 presented the same S7 chip as the Apple Watch Series 7. This means that the current homepod does not support Apple Intelligence and the new Siri features.
We expect a new homepod, especially if it has a screen will use a more powerful processor, which is compatible with Apple Intelligence.
Rumors indicate that we can expect an A18 chip – the same chip as that of the iPhone 16 – in the HomePod. It would be a big boost compared to the current model which is equipped with the S5 chip of the 2019 iPhone. The most powerful chip could be reserved for a more advanced HomeHub Homehub model.
Best sound
The HomePod and the HomePod Mini support Apple Music without 24 bits / 48 kHz. We would like to hear high resolution without loss.
Apple Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Poup
Apple would work on its own Wi-Fi and its Bluetooth chip (named Proxima) which could provide support to Wi-Fi 6th at HomePod. It would be a big jump compared to the current Wiri 802.11n of HomePod and the Bluetooth 5.0 and should lead to less interference of the signal and a better wireless speed.
Camera
There are suggestions that Apple works on a new device that combines a homepod with a camera, or places a camera on a robot arm.
This camera could also be used to recognize gestures. A few years ago, a patent was filed linked to a future homepod which could interpret the gestures of the 3D hand. This patent describes a homepod which can “interpret the gestures of the three -dimensional hand as a means of controlling the device in order to perform an action or a function”.
Multi-Touch display
We hope that Apple will give us something that will compete with the Echo show, so that we can display YouTube videos and use applications on the new hybrid device. Maybe we will not have the display we hope, but a more interactive display than the one we have currently would be great. We would like to see more than volume controls and an Siri animation.
New HomePod prices
The current prices for homepods are as follows:
- HomePod: $ 299 / £ 299
- HomePod Mini: $ 99 / £ 99
We do not expect the prices to change, although with the winds and current economic prices, it is possible. We believe that Apple will continue to sell the HomePod Mini to the ideal point of just under $ 100.
The HomePod could see an increase in prices if Apple includes the rumor screen with it. Or maybe a HomePod with screen will be an additional product, with a higher price of around $ 399 / £ 399 or more.
