Trump news at a glance: Backlash in Chicago as mayor defies president’s immigration crackdown | Trump administration

The resistance develops to the repression of the immigration of Donald Trump, with the mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, signing an executive decree to counter the president’s decision.
The order prevents the Chicago police service from collaborating with the federal authorities on patrols, the application of immigration or the completion of traffic stops and control points. It also prevents officers from carrying facial covers to hide their identity.
Johnson accused the president of “behaving outside the limits of the constitution” and of being “reckless and out of control”, while the White House insists that the potential flow of federal agents is to “repress the crime”.
“If these Democrats focused on repairing crime in their own cities instead of making advertising waterfalls to criticize the president, their communities would be much safer,” said White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson.
