Two found dead after flooding in San Antonio

A man and a woman who would have been friends were found dead after a night flood in San Antonio, the city police chief announced on Monday.
A knowledge reported the missing couple and another friend found the woman’s body on Monday, chief William McManus told NBC, the affiliate Woai de San Antonio.
The man was found about 100 meters downstream along a section of Salado Creek near the San Antonio International Airport, said the chief.
San Antonio received more than 4 inches of rain on Monday at 7 a.m., according to data from the National Weather Service. Two inches fell in a three -hour period late Sunday, the meteorological service numbers show.
“Both, in our opinion, were washed in the water last night or this morning,” said McManus. “Apparently they were friends.”
He added that the two “seem” homeless.
Their identity has not been disclosed and the Bureau of Bexar County Legalist did not immediately respond to a request for information on Monday evening.
McManus said deaths were investigated.
Salado Creek north of the city center is described by the chef as a location of homeless camps and tunnels. The city transformed part of the historic stream, known as a key battle against Mexican forces in 1842, in a “greenway” for hikers and pedestrians.
The region was under federal surveillance over the night and in the morning, with forecasters saying that rain storms were whipped by a “front limit” between two air masses, heat, a cool – a classic recipe for showers.
The region was to remain dry until Friday after the last of the clouds producing rain, move east on Monday, said the meteorological service.
