When he was asked during the Sunday interview if he currently planned to go to the presidency in 2028, Pritzker insisted that his plan was “to present himself to re -election as governor of the state”. He added that he thinks there is a “bench among the Democratic Party which is really great”.
“You know, I look around, we have a bench among the Democratic Party which is really great,” said Pritzker during the interview. “I could indicate the governors. I could indicate the senators. I think there are a lot of good choices. I can simply say that there, you know, there is no reason why we did not think of all these choices and to think about what the Americans really want? What they want is to be able to do a good job.
When asked by O’Keefe to him if he was “responsible” and “precise” to put Pritzker on this “bench” of potential presidential candidates in 2028, the governor of Illinois replied that the Democratic party has a “formidable group” who could be the next President of the United States
“What is correct is that we have a formidable group of people who could be presidents of the United States, on the Democratic side, and I am happy to stay with them while we hold against [President] Donald Trump, “said Pritzker.
