3 potential X-factors on Seahawks offense vs. 49ers in Week 1
The Seattle Seahawks will begin their 2025 campaign against their NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s Week 1 matchup. Klint Kubiak’s exciting offense will be making its debut against a Robert Saleh coached defense. We’ve identified three potential X-factors for the Seahawks on offense who could help tip the matchup in their favor.
Zach Charbonnet, RB
Kubiak is expected to field a run-heavy offense this year. That should afford both Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet plenty of opportunities versus the 49ers on Sunday. Charbonnet was outstanding when Walker was frequently sidelined with injury last season. Look for him to continue being an X-factor on offense this year, and that starts this Sunday.
Tory Horton, WR
Rookie wide receiver Tory Horton was outstanding throughout training camp. He was so good that he essentially caused the team to release veteran free-agent addition Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Expect Horton to draw advantageous matchups versus the 49ers as the WR3 behind Cooper Kupp and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Grey Zabel, LG
Grey Zabel was drafted to help drastically improve the offensive line this season. Zabel was unbelievably good throughout training camp and the preseason, but Sunday qualifies as his first official test. Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers have Nick Bosa and rookie EDGE Mykel Williams on the defensive line.
