RFK Jr. Signals Brewing Attack On Abortion Pill Mifepristone

The Secretary of Health and Social Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., told a senatorial committee on Thursday that the Biden administration had hidden evidence of the danger of the drug against mifepristone abortion – a secular anti -abortion smear which gives the pretext of the movement to make the drug difficult to obtain.
“During the Biden administration, they actually twisted the data to bury one of the security signals,” he said, adding: “We will make sure that this no longer happens.”
Kennedy added that he had discussed the security of Mfepristone with the food and drug commissioner Martin Makary “yesterday” and that the investigation “progressed on the Apace”.
Senator James Lankford (R-OK), one of the most faithful anti-abortion zealotes in the room, hosted his head, telling Kennedy to “follow science”-who has long found Miffepristone.
It is less surprising than the Trump administration weapons the FDA against mifepristone than to do so for so long to do it – perhaps a signal of uncertainty around the abortion policy. President Trump himself, never a particularly convincing anti-abortion warrior, said that he had already given the movement his white whale DobbsApparently less enthusiastic about the idea of risking other umbrella.
However, other eminent republicans have emulated on a recent article deceive the dangers of mifepristone which has all the characteristics of anti-abortion pseudo-science (vague terminology, refusal to publish underlying data, no peer exam). Some speculated when it was published in April that “the study” would be the key to creating a paper track by justifying the addition of regulations to the drug, if they do not try to completely revoke its authorization.
Red States, especially Texas, have been less patient in their desire to prohibit abortion everywhere. On Wednesday, the Texas Legislative Assembly adopted a new bill which existentially threatens the laws on the shield of the blue state, a key to preserving access to abortion in states under the democratic regime.

Some Republicans have not let RFK win
There was a certain anticipation on how the president of the Senate, education, work and pensions, Bill Cassidy (R-La), could grill the director of HHS, RFK Jr., during his audience in front of the committee this morning. Cassidy published a statement last week by sounding the alarm after the director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention was confirmed suddenly dismissed after disagreement with RFK Jr. Cassidy then called HHS ‘upcoming meeting due to allegations surrounding the “lack of scientific process”.
RFK Jr. dismissed all the members of the ACIP this summer and revised the composition of the committee, just a few months after promising Cassidy, he would not. Cassidy gave a Senate speech earlier this year saying that he had entered into an agreement with RFK Jr. – that he would vote to confirm the Kennedy at the head of HHS if he had not made substantial changes to the ACIP. Kennedy, of course, did that exactly.
During the hearing on Thursday, Cassidy and the majority of the Senate Whip John Barrasso (R-WY) toasted RFK Jr. on its modifications in the planning of vaccines, its denigration of the COVVI-19 vaccine and its upheaval of the AIPI.

The house does not extend Trump’s DC occupation
The room does not plan to vote on the opportunity to extend the takeover of President Trump in Washington, DC, so that he can make a great demonstration of suppressing the crime and flexing power over the Democrats of the District. Trump’s emergency order to federalize the DC police and send troops from the National Guard to occupy the city expires on September 10. Any effort to prolong the interior deployment of Trump would have been selected in the Senate, because he would need to empty the filibuster and the Democrats of the Senate would have said that they would block it, but the Chamber should at least force the Democrats to vote. By politico:
President Mike Johnson said on leaving the floor of the room on Thursday that the announcement of the mayor of DC Muriel Bowser this week that she would coordinate with federal police on an indefinite basis in the future, he apparently “resolved some” the questions.
Bowser earlier this week suggested that she would welcome federal police, such as FBI agents and American park police, staying in DC, but she criticized Trump’s occupation as a whole.
