Trump To Give Pentagon New Name: Reports
Defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, went to social networks on Thursday and seemed to confirm that the Ministry of Defense will soon be renamed.
Hegseth republished the Fox News tweet on Thursday announcing that the White House will rename the Ministry of Defense as Ministry of War. President Donald Trump would have signed an executive decree on Friday to restore the “Department of War” label to the Pentagon, a return to the historic name of the agency, Fox News Digital reported.
The order orders that the Ministry of Defense uses the “Ministry of War” as a secondary title, Hegseth assuming the designation “Secretary of War”. A White House official told Fox News on Thursday that Trump would deploy the change as part of the broader “Warrior Ethos” campaign of his administration aimed at remodeling the culture of the armed forces.
Hegseth said Wednesday that the restoration of the historic name of the Pentagon would mark a cultural change inside the building.

“We won the First World War, and we won the Second World War, not with the Ministry of Defense, but with a war department, with the Ministry of War,” Hegseth told “Fox & Friends”. “As the president said, we are not only the defense, we are offended.”
Hegseth said the administration wanted to restore a “warrior ethics” in the ranks.
“We are restored to the Department of the Pharmacy of Warriors. We want warriors, people who understand how to demand lethality on the enemy. We do not want endless contingencies and playing defense. We think that words and names and titles therefore count with the White House and the President. Stand. ”Said HegSeth.
Hegseth was busy strengthening the American defenses. Last week, the defense manager ordered the army to create a joint working group Interagences 401, a unit which will coordinate counter-Drônes operations across the army. In a memo, Hegseth led the Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to direct the initiative, which replaces an only army program and expands the mission of relying on investments from other drone defense branches to protect the American sky and American forces abroad. Drone Warfare has become a decisive characteristic of modern conflict, its fatal efficiency at full exposure in the Russian-Ukraine war. The US military rushed to follow the pace, the army recently testing counter-ground systems in Poland in an initiative known as “Project Flytrap”.
The Pentagon bore the name of the Ministry of War until 1949, when the Congress renamed it the Ministry of Defense under the 1947 national security law.
The Ministry of Defense did not immediately respond to the request for comments from the Daily Call News Foundation.
