Trader Joe’s Frozen Pizzas Flagged in Public Health Alert—What You Need to Know

The Food and Inspection Service of the US Department of Agriculture (FSIS) has has issued a public health alert for frozen pizza sold at Trader Joe’sAccording to a shared announcement last week.
The pizza product in Pepperoni not ready to eat (NRTE) frozen (NRTE) was imported from Italy and did not “receive the benefit of the import rewind”.
The pizzas were not recalled because they are no longer available for purchase, but the FSIS said Consumers can still have the products in their freezers. Here is what to look for.
Frozen pizzas have been shipped in retail stores and sold in cardboard boxes of 17.63 ounces with the following information printed on the packaging:
- Product of Pizza Pepperoni of Trader Joe in Italy with “Lot MFG: 06/16/25; Best by: 8/16/26” or “Lot MFG: 06/21/25 Best by 08/21/26” (printed at the bottom of the package)
- The Italian establishment number “Il 1558 the EU”

If you have the product in your freezer, the FSIS says not to consume it – it must be thrown or returned On the site of Trader Joe where you bought him.
Currently, there has been no confirmed report of disease or adverse effects linked to the consumption of frozen pizzas.
