Yesterday, during a hearing in the Senate, the secretary of health and social services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. faced calls to resign from Democrats and the criticism of the Republicans. For decades, Kennedy has established a reputation as an anti-vaccine activist. However, when President Trump considered him for the role of HHS secretary, Kennedy made promises not to prevent people from obtaining vaccines. At the hearing, he was invited to explain his recent actions concerning vaccines. This included the way he returned to his wish not to touch the Center for the Control of Diseases and the Prevention of Consultative Practices for Centers for Disease and Prevention. He dismissed the 17 members of the committee and replaced them with people with a history of anti-vaccine activism.

Creatine supplements have gained popularity among social media influencers who say they can help muscle growth, improve sports performance and even improve brain function. The compound is made from three amino acids that serve as an energy source for your muscles. While your body naturally produces a certain creatine, can maximization really offer the advantages that influencers claim? Here is what the evidence shows:

  • 🥛 Creatine works to add a lean muscle mass, but you need to train to benefit from its effects.
  • 🥛 Men who combined supplements with resistance formation added about two to three pounds of lean body mass, according to a review of 35 studies. This could be important for older men, who tend to lose muscle mass as they age.
  • 🥛 The initial evidence indicates that the advantages such as the regulation of blood sugar in type 2 diabetes and the improvement of memory are not strongly supported, according to Jose Antonio, professor of exercise sciences and sports sciences at the Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
  • 🥛 Vegetarians and vegetarians are more likely to see the advantages of taking creatine, because they probably do not get much or in their diet. Creatine comes from red meat, chicken or fish.
