Although there were 59 Super Bowl champions, few were celebrated more than the 1985 Chicago Bears, a really larger team than the life that took the NFL by storm on the way to win the only title of the Franchise Super Bowl.

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the legendary team, the members of the 85 Bears were honored at halftime of the Monday evening match between the Vikings and the Bears to Soldier Field. Rightly, a key victory for the Bears during the 1985 season came against the Vikings on Monday evening.

Directed by coach Mike Ditka and the defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan, the ’85 Bears driven the regular season up to a file of 15-1. Chicago started 12-0 before the dolphins and the quarter-rear of the Dan Marino renown temple did not prevent them from joining the dolphins of 1972 as the only perfect NFL teams.

One of the unknown heroes of the 85 Bears was Walter Payton, 32, who ran for 1,551 yards and nine affected while catching 49 passes for 483 yards and two other scores. Payton at one point had nine performances of 100 consecutive yards which included a summit of 192 yards during the victory of the week 9 of Chicago against the packers.

In the playoffs, Ryan’s “46” defense overwhelmed the opposition. The unit excluded the giants and the rams in the first two laps before completely dominating the Patriots, 46-10, in the Super Bowl XX. The 36-point differential was the biggest in the history of the Super Bowl at that time, and it is always the second best of all time. Directed by the future Hall of Famers Mike Singletary, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton and Steve McMichael, the defense of Chicago has set a record for the Super Bowl by granting only nine yards on the ground. They also forced six reversals while carrying out two scores on security and a peak-six by the defensive back Reggie Phillips.

Chicago made more history immediately after their victory when Ditka and Ryan were swept away by their players. This marks the first and last time that several coaches were taken to the field at the end of a Super Bowl.

Although they are a large team, bears 85 are also memorized to be an extremely colorful team in terms of personality. For example, you can’t talk about Bears ’85 not to mention their “Super Bowl Shuffle” clip which has often been imitated but has not yet been duplicated.

The 85 Bears will always have a special place in Chicago and the NFL. In 2019, they were elected as the second best team in NFL history, behind only the undefeated dolphins of 1972. For Bears fans, however, the 85 team did not take a back on anyone.
