Monday Night Football winners and losers: The Chicago Bears' awful night makes the list
The first football match on Monday evening of the regular season included a pair of quarter -round 2024 choices at Caleb Williams and JJ McCarthy.
McCarthy was right for his project companion while the Vikings of Minnesota gathered to beat the Chicago Bears 27-24 to reach 1-0 in the young season.
Monday was the first regular season meeting between Williams and McCarthy. It was the first beginning of McCarthy’s NFL. The match started Rocky for McCarthy, but he led the Vikings on three trips of touch in the second half to raise the Minnesota to the victory.
Here are the winners and losers of the NFC North Battle:
Winners
JJ McCarthy
McCarthy, who grew up in the Chicago region, made its first start of the NFL. The first half and the third quarter were difficult, but he showed a lot of resilience in the return victory.
The Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell called a conservative match for the young quarter. McCarthy played as a young player overwhelmed during the first two quarters. He finished only five passes for 48 yards in the first half.
The second year QB found its groove after a pick-six in the third quarter. He led Minnesota to discs of three strokes who overthrew the momentum in favor of the Vikings in the fourth period. He delivered a 13 yards hit to Justin Jefferson.

On the possession that followed, McCarthy launched a touch of 27 yards in Aaron Jones to give the Minnesota a 2-17 lead with 9:46 to play in the last quarter. He then reduced a touch of 14 yards on a reading option on the following possession to lift the Vikings to an advantage of 27-17.

McCarthy finished with 143 yards, two passages of touch and interception, plus a precipitated TD. He is the first starting QB with a return of more than 10 points to the fourth quarter during his debut of the NFL since Steve Young in 1985, by NFL Research.
Vikings on the road
The Vikings won six consecutive games in Chicago. These are the first six sequences of Minnesota match victories in Chicago in the history of the franchise.
Kevin O’Connell is 6-1 as a chief coach against the Bears.
Nahshon Wright
The bears were right with Wright.
Wright was part of the Vikings training team last year. He had a sweet revenge against his former club.
The fourth year’s corner half jumped in front of a pass from JJ McCarthy intended for Justin Jefferson in the third quarter. Wright intercepted football and ran on the field for a 74 yards pick-six. It was the first choice of Wright’s career.

The touch gave the Bears a certain momentum and raised them to an advance of 17-6.
Wright started in the place of the injured corner half Jaylon Johnson.
Arlington Heights
The president and chief executive officer of the Bears, Kevin Warren, would have sent a letter to subscription holders who declared that the team had its goal of building a new fixed roof stadium in Arlington Heights. The Bears also hope to bring a super bowl to the stadium from 2031, by NFL network.
Jim Cornelison
Cornelison sang the national anthem before the match. His interpretation was perhaps not your cup of tea (the performance of the men of Boyz II of the National Hymn of the Cowboys VS Eagles Week 1 game was the best in my opinion). But Cornelison obtained a big cry from the NFL on X.
Losers
Third bass efficiency
The two teams fought powerfully in third position.
The Bears were 3-12 in the third low. They went 0-2 below to the last quarter. Minnesota was not better despite the victory because they also finished 3-12 in third drop.
Orport of the second mouter offer
The second offense of Chicago sank into Lake Michigan.
The bears were forced to kick four of their first five goods after half time. Caleb Williams led the Bears on a touch of five games of 65 yards at the end of the fourth quarter, but the Vikings offensive was able to milked the chronometer during their next possession.
Chicago’s defense equaled score production of its attack in the second half, each unit marked a touchdown.
Williams finished only eight passes in the second half.
