President Donald Trump delivered what he called a “last warning” to Hamas, urging the group to accept a proposal supported by the United States to release the hostages of Gaza – an agreement which he declared that Israel had already approved.

Although the White House did not reveal the terms of the agreement, Trump predicted a breakthrough “very soon” when he spoke to journalists in Washington after attending the United States final in New York.

“I think we will get them all,” he said about the remaining hostages. There are 48 hostages still detained in Gaza, with 20 which would be alive.

Reuters reported that Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar said on Monday that Israel had accepted Trump’s cease-fire proposal. Israeli officials did not immediately respond to the request for comments from NBC News.

Hamas said on Sunday that he had received “some ideas” from the United States through mediators, and that he was in contact with them to “develop these ideas in a full agreement”.

Trump’s latest intervention occurred while Israel Israel Katz’s Israeli Minister of Defense also issued a “final warning” on Monday, demanding that Hamas release hostages and weapons “or Gaza will be destroyed”.

Israel continued with its offensive to take control of Gaza City, which should move hundreds of thousands of people, most of them already uprooted several times during the war.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote that Israel had “accepted my conditions” without giving details. “It’s time for Hamas to accept too.”

He said Hamas had been “warned of the consequences of not accepting”. “This is my last warning,” he added.

Israel Channel 12 News reported that the 48 hostages would be delivered on the first day of the proposed agreement, in exchange for the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners. The report indicates that Israel would stop its intention to occupy Gaza City and start the negotiations to end the war.

Hamas reiterated its preparation for negotiations to release all hostages in exchange for a “clear declaration of an end of the war” and a “complete withdrawal” of the Israeli Gaza forces.

Benny Gantz, former Minister of Defense and Rival of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, wrote on X that Israel’s response to the agreement “must be a clear and unequivocal yes”, urging the opposition parties to provide “all the necessary political support”.

Israel launched its military campaign after the terrorist attacks led by Hamas on October 7, 2023, who saw 1,200 people killed and around 250 people took hostage.

Since then, say that Palestinian health officials say that Israeli forces have killed more than 64,000 people in Gaza, including thousands of children, while driving most of the population of their homes and destroying or damaging most of its buildings and infrastructure.

Israel Ramon airport near the southern city of Eilay briefly closed Sunday after a drone was launched from Yemen hit the arrival hall, the authority of Israel airports said.

According to the National Ambulance Services, two people were injured by bursts of buses, and airport operations resumed shortly after.

The militant group Houthi claimed the attack, saying that it “would not back up” of its support for Gaza.
