The senatorial committee, which oversees the centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will hold an audience next week with testimonies from former CDC director Susan Monarez, who was suddenly dismissed by Trump administration last month after refusing to resign under pressure.

The hearing before the senatorial committee of health, education, labor and pensions, chaired by Senator Bill Cassidy, R-La., Will take place on September 17 and will focus on monitoring of the CDC. Chief doctor Debra Houry, who resigned from his role to the agency after the dismissal of Monarez by the secretary of health, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., should also testify, according to a spokesman for the committee.

“To protect the health of children, the Americans must know what happened and occur at the CDC,” Cassidy said in a statement on Tuesday evening announcing the hearing. “They must be reassured that their child’s health is a priority. Radical transparency is the only way to do so.”

The hearing will one day take place before the Vaccination Practices Advisory Committee met on September 18.

Shortly after the eviction of Monarez, Cassidy warned the advisory panel against the vaccines against meeting until significant surveillance was carried out.

“If the meeting takes place, the recommendations made should be dismissed as lacking in legitimacy given the gravity of allegations and current disorders in the leadership of the CDC.” Cassidy said in a statement last month.

It’s a development history. Please check the updates.
