Tinder launches three ‘Modes’ as evolutions of Double Date and Tinder U

Tinder introduces modes, different ways of seeing (and, hopefully, match) potential connections. At the launch, there are three “modes”: for your mode, the double date mode and the college mode.
For your mode (you ask where Tinder has obtained this name) is described as “the classic Tinder experience” in a press release shared with Mashable – basically, everyone can slip.

The double date mode is the evolution of the double date function that the application launched this summer. It allows users to invite friends and judge themselves for dates. The mode will now be a dedicated space in the application to see other pairs. In a Tinder test this month, the Double Date mode resulted in a 10% increase in the adoption of functionality worldwide.
Meanwhile, the college mode jumps from Tinder U, a feature for students. He compiles other users in college in one place, and those registered at university can go into college mode and see specific aspects in college in their profile, as where they frequent school and their major.

The modes navigation bar will be at the top of the Tinder home screen. It is available worldwide, as is the double date mode. The college mode will start to come to eligible American users this fall on Apple and Android.

Tinder also plans to publish more modes in the future. At first glance, the goal of the function seems to recall the Tinder Explore page, which also looked for somewhat tailor -made matches.
“Gen Z wanted low -pressure ways to connect, because what you are and how you want to connect can change day by day,” said Tinder product manager Mark Kantor, in the press release. “We have heard our users aloud, and they are looking for better correspondence, not only more. Modes are part of our continuous efforts to create products that lead to more significant connections.”
Modes has been the latest version of Tinder since its new CEO, Spencer Rascoff, brought the reins in July. Rascoff, also CEO of the parent company of Tinder Match Group, wants Tinder to allow its reputation for connection and attracts more users of the Z generation. One of its seven new product principles for Tinder is speed and emergency, which can explain the speed of new versions.
Since the number of people paying for Tinder decreased in the second quarter, we will see if the modes refer them.
