The Wiz Gradient Floor Light is not an item that comes with any sort of customization options. The exterior shell of the lamp is black, and the glass protecting the lights themselves is white when not in use. It has a two-year warranty when bought directly from WiZ, but it’s out of stock on their official website right now, where it would normally be $90. It’s available at Amazon right now for $93 instead and can also be purchased from third-party retailers like eBay.

A Smart Light That’s Ready to Go in Ten Minutes

The WiZ Gradient Floor Light comes in a pretty large box considering that it’s just shy of five feet tall. But despite its size, it’s a very simple product being little more than a long, narrow aluminum pole on a base. Setting it up was extremely easy, as it already came fully assembled. All I had to do was place it where I wanted and plug it into a wall. There’s only one button on the whole thing and the instruction manual is pretty brief.

Honestly, you’ll spend more time setting it up in the Wiz V2 app than anything else, and even that is pretty quick. Just connect your phone to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, turn on your Bluetooth, and activate pairing mode with the light. Within five minutes, you’ll be able to fully control and customize the floor lamp and its variety of lighting options. Setting up a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network if you didn’t already have one available is honestly the hardest part of the whole setup.

A Minimalist Design That Fits Into Any Room

If you’re looking to add a gradient splash of color to a room, then you’re probably looking for a bit of flair and personality. But you want the light to be the thing that draws the eye, not the actual lamp, in this case. The WiZ Gradient Floor Light is very minimalist, and thus, absolutely perfect for bringing a new level of flair to any room without being an eyesore when you aren’t using it. It’s literally just a black pole that sits in the corner.

It doesn’t take up a lot of space, and it’s easy to look past it and forget it’s there when not in use. The sleek, unobtrusive aesthetic means it can fit well into almost any room. And if black doesn’t work for you for some reason, the material is just aluminum, so you could feasibly paint over it pretty easily to be any color you want.

Dozens of Ambient Light Options at Your Fingertips

Every room has its own aesthetic, and the best color for it can even change depending on the time of day or what you’re doing. The WiZ Gradient Floor Light has a ton of options to choose from within the WiZ V2 app. There are several dozen preset patterns and color schemes, both static and dynamic. You can also pick your own color, and you can be very specific about it, inputting a particular color hex code or even a color temperature value in Kelvin.

Unfortunately, you can’t make your own unique dynamic color gradient. If you want to get ultra-specific with the light color, it will be static. You have to rely on the preset patterns for dynamic, shifting lighting. You can adjust both the brightness and the speed of the color changing for those.

While you can’t create your own color-shifting patterns, there are lots of other customization options within the app. For example, you can set the light to change color at certain times of day, follow a set schedule, or adhere to different “scenes” that you can set up with other WiZ devices. There’s even an audio sync option where the light changes according to music or sound, though using this requires a WiZ audio sync box.

All in all, there is a wealth of color options available, perfect for setting the mood to anything you need, whether it’s reading a book on a rainy day or completing your RGB gaming ambiance.

Should You Buy the WiZ Gradient Floor Light?

Ambient lighting is something you never truly need, but is often nice to have. That’s about where this floor light from WiZ stands. If you’re at the stage where aesthetics and vibes is all your room needs, especially around the walls, this product is a great choice, with lots of dynamic color options and patterns. It’s so easy to set up that just about anyone could do it without too much hassle. But you are still paying upwards of $90 for a fancy lamp that looks like a lightsaber on display.

If you want something like that, then I absolutely recommend the WiZ Gradient Floor Light. It does exactly what it advertises, adding a cool aesthetic to any room with lighting of your choice. It definitely made my theater room feel even cooler. But ultimately, it’s a vanity item that’s only worth it if you like the aesthetic value it provides.
