President Donald Trump responded to a social media post joking about the nomination of Secretary of State Marco Rubio as president of Cuba, responding, “Sounds good to me.”

Trump posted the response Sunday on his Truth Social account after a user wrote, “Marco Rubio will be president of Cuba.”

Rubio’s expansive portfolio within the Trump administration has fueled online jokes depicting him as being responsible for an ever-expanding list of roles.

Officially, he is Secretary of State, National Security Advisor, and Acting Archivist of the United States.

He also served as acting administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, before the agency’s remaining functions were eliminated or absorbed by the State Department in a reorganization finalized in July.

Rubio leaned into the humor himself, writing on X last week that he would not be a candidate for vacant head coaching or general manager positions with the Miami Dolphins.

“While one never knows what the future holds, I must remain focused on world events as well as the valuable archives of the United States of America,” he wrote.
