The actor winner of an Oscars, George Clooney, thinks that the Democratic Party must bring together his act – and he will probably not ask him to direct this effort.

In an interview with Esquire magazine published on Monday, the 64-year-old film star cited the civil war, the war in Vietnam and the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy Jr. as very difficult tests, the United States has survived. He noted that these shootings of 1968 were accompanied by riots in the streets and a fierce national gap which finally cooled.

According to Clooney, the United States is again in a period when things will get worse before improving.

“We are going to pass through, but a lot of damage will be done along the way because of our position. And it’s heartbreaking to see,” said Clooney. “And the Democrats will have to come together.”

Clooney was a frank critic of Donald Trump in the president’s first term, describing him as a desperate “stupid goofball” to befriend the celebrities before being elected.

Clooney later became a criticism of Trump’s democratic opponent Joe Biden, whom he called to end his candidacy following a disastrous presidential debate in July 2024 between the elderly candidates.

“I love Joe Biden,” wrote Clooney in a New York Times editorial published a few days before Biden, then 81, withdrew from the race. “But the only battle he cannot win is the fight against time.”

The actor “Gravity” told Esquire that he does not plan to do anything.

“I don’t think so,” said Clooney. “I think people have heard enough about me.”

Clooney explained in his play in the New York Times that he had recently attended a fundraising for Biden where he realized that the holder was not in place for four years in power. He said to Esquire that he felt the need to express themselves at that time “because I had been a personal witness to things.”

Trump called Clooney “a second -rate movie star”.

The son of Biden, Hunter Biden, also addressed Clooney in a July interview where he wondered “What right do you have to walk on a man who gave 52 years of his life in the service of this country?”
