Track measles outbreaks, cases and vaccine rates by state across the U.S

With more than 1,200 cases reported, 2025 is already the second most active year for measles since 2000, the year when the United States has officially eliminated it.
Most of the cases of this year are in Texas, which represents approximately 2 in 3 out of 3 infections.
“Elimination” means that the disease has not spread continuously for at least 12 months. And while sporadic epidemics have occurred since 2000, recent cases of cases are nothing compared to the 27,000 cases reported in 1990 or to the 450,000 cases reported in 1964.
The measles vaccine was introduced in 1963, which marked a turning point for contagious disease, which killed thousands of people each year.
