Five LSU football players who stood out in Tigers' win over Louisiana Tech
After traveling to the wannabe "Death Valley in Clemson, the Tigers returned to the real "Death Valley" to face unranked Louisiana Tech. For the first time in six years, LSU had to worry about dealing with a Week 1 hangover.
In the first half, LSU looked like they were, indeed, struggling with a hangover after a statement win last week. Although LSU was playing a team that was not near the talent level of Clemson, LSU only led 10-0 at halftime, and quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was not as crisp as he was last week. LSU was able to tack on 13 points in the second half to finish with a 23-7 win and improve to 2-0. Here are five players who stood out in week two.
1. Barion Brown
Brown was the top receiver for the Tigers tonight. The Kentucky transfer hauled in eight receptions for 94 yards as well as rushing the ball one time for 15 yards.
2. Aaron Anderson
Anderson followed the great game he had against Clemson with a great game in the Bayou. He finished the game with eight receptions for 73 yards.
3. Zavion Thomas
LSU found a way to get the ball in Zavion Thomas's hands tonight against Louisiana Tech, and he wound up with the second-most rushing yards for the Tigers, finishing the game with six carries for 54 yards.
4. Whit Weeks
Whit finished as the Tigers' leading tackler tonight, topping the chart with 10 total tackles and one tackle for loss. Whit was a star last season for LSU until being sidelined with an injury. He is back with a vengeance this year.
5. Davhon Keys
Keys finished the night with eight tackles and one quarterback hurry. Everyone knows about Harold Perkins Jr. and Whit Weeks in the LSU linebacker core, but Keys is another guy who can get the job done.
