The former NFL quarter-rear, Mark Sanchez, was accused of injury, public poisoning and illegal entry of a vehicle after an incident in Indianapolis early Saturday morning which left it with injuries by stab.

According to an affidavit, Sanchez, who is now working as an NFL analyst for Fox Sports, confronted a 69 -year -old truck driver in a hotel loading bay. The driver said he believed that “this guy was trying to kill me” and used pepper spray to protect himself. When the spray did not prevent Sanchez to swarm on him, the man said that he had stabbed the old quarter-arre “two or three times”. Sanchez would then have threw the man against a garbage dumpster before “a look of shock” falls on his face and he “took off”. The detectives examined the video sequences of the incident. Witnesses said Sanchez and the pilot turned to mobile phones during the incident.

“M. Sanchez is seen running after [the man] And the video shows that Mr. Sanchez grabs and launches [the man] Towards the Westin Wall, the hotel, “wrote the police in the Affidavit.” Mr. Sanchez was then seen launching [the man] On the ground on the west side of the alley. »»

The Indianapolis star reported that the confrontation had started after Sanchez and the driver argued in a parking space. Sanchez would have said to the man, who picked up frying oil at the hotel, that the director said he did not want the oil to be picked up. Sanchez would then have tried to enter the man’s truck.

The incident left Sanchez with stab wounds in his chest while the driver underwent cuts on his face. Sanchez was treated in hospital for his injuries, which were not deadly, before being arrested on Saturday. It is expected to appear during an audience on Tuesday morning.

According to the Affidavit, Sanchez told the police: “Everything he remembered was to enter a window.” He did not remember who had stabbed him or where the incident occurred.

“This incident should never have occurred,” Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said on Sunday. “What started as a disagreement between a 38 -year -old former professional athlete and a 69 -year -old man should not have transformed into violence or have made anyone seriously injured. As with any case, we will follow the facts and the law wherever they lead. ”

Sanchez was in Indianapolis to cover the Colts match with Las Vegas raiders on Sunday afternoon as part of his Fox sports functions. Another former NFL quarter-back, Brady Quinn, replaced Sanchez in the game for Sunday. Fox briefly recognized the incident in the Sunday pre-match show on Sunday, with the host Curt Menefee saying: “We always try to wrap our heads … Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, his family and all the people involved”.

Sanchez joined Fox in 2021 and also contributes to the Studio FS1 programming.

Before his broadcasting career, Sanchez played 10 seasons in the NFL with several teams, including the New York Jets, who took him with the fifth global choice of the 2009 draft. Later, he played for the Eagles of Philadelphia and the Cowboys of Dallas. He retired in July 2019 and soon after, he started working with the coverage of ESPN university football before going to Fox.

Remove from the field, Sanchez married his wife, Perry, in 2023. The couple shared three children.
