This massive 24TB(!) external hard drive is just $240 on Black Friday

If you have a lot of large files (or a billion small files), finding enough affordable storage can be difficult. This is especially true if you’re trying to be responsible for backups and looking to store them on different media. But right now, during the Black Friday blitz, you can take a break: Best Buy is currently selling this Seagate Expansion 24TB external hard drive for $240 (was $330). It only costs $10 per terabyte!
This USB 3.0 external hard drive can hold a large number of videos, photos and game files (and much more). As a desktop-sized storage drive, you’ll need to make room for it on your desk or shelf, as well as find a spare socket in your power strip, but that’s the standard trade-off for an external hard drive: a little more space taken up, but a lot more storage capacity in exchange. (Luckily, this particular model is quite easy to find, being quite compact at around 7 x 5 x 1.7 inches.)
And at $10 per terabyte, it’s excellent value. This threshold is often touted by data collectors, a community concerned about the price of storage. (You kind of have to be when you collect that many records.) But you don’t have to be a data collector to appreciate this deal. In fact, it’s better if it doesn’t, because this Seagate drive is designed for backup use rather than continuous work on a home server.
The only downside to this drive is that it comes with a one-year limited warranty. If that worries you, it’s fair: you might want to pay more for a competing offering, like this WD 20TB drive for $270 with a 2-year warranty. Otherwise, if you like this deal, be sure to grab this 24TB external drive while you can. Black Friday deals often sell out quickly!
