Dems See an Opening in the MAGA Rift Over Epstein Files
While the Democratic Party on the whole has kept its distance from the theories of the conspiracy linked to the death of the sexual offender, in recent years, condemned Jeffrey Epstein, individual legislators and party officials now jumped into the arrow on the saga in the Maga movement, and try to stretch intimate struggles.
For the most part, Democrats use the time to hit a familiar theme: Trump lied to you, Trump supporters. Some have gone further, suggesting that there could be more in the actions of the administration which do not respond to the eye.
Last week, Trump’s FBI – which is led by Trump allies who caused a sensation in Maga’s sphere of influencers before entering the Trump administration, in part, theorizing the death of Epstein – put a memo that sent corners of the Maga world in a spiral. He said that an “exhaustive exam” of the MJ files on Epstein’s crimes and death had found no new evidence for additional accusations and no list of supposed sex traffic customers. The memo also confirmed other public reports on the death of Epstein – which he died of suicide.
The extremely online maga types are now wondering if the Attorney General Pam Bondi is only another cog in the concealment machine, and if, in an unlikely manner, the leaders of the FBI Kash Patel and Don Bongino were recruited by the deep state. As my colleague Josh Marshall underlined, Trump’s own public commitment with the conclusions of the note has only fueled suspicions: as a conspiracy theorist himself who is still content to get involved with the news and political questions of the day, Trump’s anger effort to quickly stop journalists on memo during one of the television sprick meetings last week. This, combined with his defensive and bizarre social post of truth during the weekend-it may be false of a new conspiracy theory on how all government documents on the Epstein affair are perhaps false because they were, by him, written by the Democrats, to allies like Tucker Carlson and Michael Flynn wondering. Elon Musk’s reflections on Twitter on the fact that Trump is “in Epstein files” did not help Trump either.
All this created a moment for the Democrats to grasp, because they often try, and sometimes fail, to do for moments of intra-maga tensions. The National Democratic Committee created a new Twitter account last week, which recalls subscribers daily that Trump did not publish Epstein files. In a statement to NBC News, DNC’s main advisor Tim Hogan explained how exactly the Democratic Party puts on the needle in his mailbox: “The Trump administration officials die on the file and keep it covered to protect themselves, or they lied about his existence in a shameless political scheme to be elected.
Some elected DEMS go further, the representative Marc Veasey (D-TX) announcing that he would soon be introduced a resolution that requires the release of the Trump administration all the investigation files on Epstein.

Others like, the representative Ro Khanna (D-CA), go in everything, wondering: “Who are the rich and powerful protected?”

The leader of the minority of the room, Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), joined some of his colleagues on Monday by calling for the publication of the complete tranche of Epstein documents to the American public.
“Option 1: They have lied for years. Option 2: they engage in a concealment.
