Accused Felon LaMonica McIver Survives House Censure Vote Because of Republican Votes – RedState
A handful of House Republicans united their forces with Democrats on Wednesday to protect the Democrat from New Jersey Lamonica Mciver to face any professional consequence of her assault against a federal agent outside a Newark detention center, NJ.
McIiver, who sits (strongly) within the internal security committee which oversees immigration and customs application, appeared in a Newark detention center claiming that it was “surveillance” but neglected to follow the internal security protocol and good manners by asking for an appointment.

A great federal jury has since given McIiver three charges of “forcefully hindering and interfere with the federal officers”.

On Wednesday, the Louisiana republican, Clay Higgins, introduced a resolution censoring McIiver for her conduct and the ejection of the internal security committee.

- While these actions constitute a violation of article 111 (a) (1) of title 18, the code of the United States, relating to the assault, resistance, empire and interfere with a federal officer;
- While clause 1 of rule XXIII of the rules of the House of Representatives provides: “A member, a delegate, a resident commissioner, an officer or an employee of the Chamber will behave at any time in a way that must reflect in a credible manner.”;
- While these actions of a member of the House of Representatives are not reflected in a credible manner in the House; And
- While the continuous service of representative McIiver within the internal security committee, which is accused of monitoring the application of federal immigration and other national security issues, would represent an important conflict of interest:
It would seem to be a slam dunk. McIiver was charged with federal accusations that could get him a decade in prison. It is part of the internal security committee and the fact that it has charged crime accusations should be sufficient to prevent it from seeing classified information. His conduct in Newark revealed a deep hate for the application of immigration and any person associated with it. Well, that’s not what happened.

By a vote from 215 to 207, the Higgins motion was defeated.
Five Republicans voted with the Democrats to defend Mciver.

The representatives Andrew Garbarino (New York 2D district were worn by Trump 56-43) and Nathaniel Moran (the 1st District of Texas opted for Trump 75-24)
According to Breitbart, some of the votes in favor of Mciver were because these members favored while waiting for the Ethics Committee to end its report. Which is a bit like saying that you expect the crack of unhappiness. One of the votes to Mciver pleaded stupidity as a defense.
The representative of Turner said that he had voted in mistake against the resolution, which would not have changed the outcome of the vote, Politico reported.
